This one comes from the Ile St-Louis! Both me and my luggage (we came on separate planes and from different cities; I beat my luggage by three hours, making for a mighty tense wait) are in house on a very cold—about 20 degrees—Parisian day. First glimpse of the ground from the airplane at dawn revealed a countryside blanketed with fresh snow, not something I was counting on, but a glorious sight from above. The sunny day melted much snow from the city streets, so moving about is not a problem, but I do have boots for the slush. The apartment is quite lovely with fresh, wonderfully fragrant cut flowers placed about. It is quite small, but more than adequate for me. The owners have come by to offer suggestions as to where to buy the best wine, bread, cheese and the like. Had a ham and cheese omelet with a glass of Brouilly at a corner deli next door and that has set me up for a bit of rest, as it has been about 30 hours since I departed Philadelphia. Dreams should be rich.
